Liverpool players take a knee in memory of George Floyd

According to Guardian UK, The chairman of Kick It Out has urged every Premier League footballer to protest against the killing of George Floyd by police by taking a knee when the season resumes this month and has said the Football Association should not punish players who use their platforms to call for social change.

The picture featuring 29 Reds players came with the caption “Unity is strength. #BlackLivesMatter”.

Protests are been held all over the world for George Floyd, an unarmed black man, died on 25 May after white Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who kneeled on his neck for almost nine minutes to pin him down.

Chauvin has since been charged with his murder and sacked.
