A motorist collided with a crocodile on the Portmore Toll Road in St. Catherine

According to reports, a motorist collided with a crocodile while driving along he Portmore toll road in St Catherine on Saturday night. Witnesses said that the reptile attempted to make a way across the carriageway, which resulted in the collision with the driver.

The police have confirmed this unusual occurrence and maintain that no physical injuries have been reported by the driver.

Available information revealed that the driver was driver his vehicle in a westerly direction along the toll road when the ill-fated crocodile decided to venture onto the path. The driver unintentionally struck the reptile, resulting in loss of control of the vehicle and a detour onto a soft shoulder adjacent to the road.

Officer Rasbert Turner who is assigned to the case, noted significant damage to the car, prompting a call to the police to report the incident.

This is not the first time crocodile venture in the paths of oncoming vehicles. In 2021, Loop News reported motorists along a section of the Portmore Toll Road in St Catherine accounter a large crocodile marching along the roadway after seemingly straying from its natural habitat off the highway.
