Jamaican-Born MrBeast Winner Released After Being Swept Up In Paraguay Drug Probe

Jamaican-born pilot Jabari Brown, the young aviator who rose to international fame after winning a private jet challenge hosted by YouTube megastar MrBeast, found himself at the centre of an international drug trafficking investigation in Paraguay over the weekend.

Brown, 20, who is known online as “Captain Treezy,” was initially detained alongside three other Americans after Paraguayan anti-drug authorities discovered approximately 261.6 kilograms of high-THC marijuana aboard a private aircraft that arrived from Miami at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport.

The incident quickly generated headlines across social media, especially after reports surfaced claiming the marijuana haul had an estimated street value of US$3.6 million.

However, Paraguayan authorities clarified Monday that Brown has since been released after investigators determined there was insufficient evidence linking him to the narcotics discovered on the aircraft.

According to Jalil Rachid, Minister of Paraguay’s National Anti-Drug Secretariat (SENAD), Brown fully cooperated with authorities by providing flight logs and details surrounding the chartered flight.

Officials stated that Brown was serving only as a contracted co-pilot and had no knowledge of the drugs allegedly concealed within passengers’ luggage.

“Jabari Stephen Brown was released this Monday, June 1, 2026, by decision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Paraguay,” one local report stated. “The authorities.

Brown became widely known in 2025 after defeating 99 other pilots and aviation enthusiasts in a gruelling competition organized by MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson. The Jamaican pilot, the youngest contestant in the challenge, impressed millions of viewers after enduring extreme aviation-themed tasks, including surviving jet blasts, hauling an aircraft and skydiving challenges.

In the final stage of the competition held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Brown reportedly held onto a jet positioned in the middle of a freeway for more than 19 hours, ultimately securing victory and winning a US$2.5 million private jet.
