The Jamaica Constabulary Force has confirmed that 22-year-old Constable Patrick Walters has been formally charged with the murder of 20-year-old D’Jonnay Graham, following a fatal shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Graham’s residence in Richmond, St. Mary.
The charges were laid after a comprehensive investigation conducted by detectives assigned to the Port Maria Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB), and a subsequent ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

According to police reports, at approximately 9:15 p.m. on the evening in question, a dispute developed between Graham and Walters, which allegedly escalated into violence. Both individuals were found suffering from gunshot wounds when the police arrived at the scene. Graham was later pronounced dead at hospital, while Walters was admitted for medical treatment. A case file was submitted to the DPP, who on Thursday, July 17, ruled that Constable Walters be charged with Murder and Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony.
Following his release from hospital, Walters was taken into custody and officially charged on Monday, July 21.
The incident has been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) as well as the Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB), both of which are overseeing aspects of the ongoing investigation.
