Prime Minister Andrew Holness delivered a passionate message to supporters of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), urging them to stay grounded in discipline, peace, and love as the country moves closer to a general election.

Speaking at a JLP supporters, Holness emphasized the values he believes the JLP represents: “We are the party of progress. The party of order. The party of discipline. The Jamaica Labour Party doesn’t do anything chaka chaka.”

In a firm but measured tone, the Prime Minister rejected any calls for political violence or aggression.

“We’re not calling for blood nor fire for anyone. That’s not who we are,” Holness said.
“Let it be understood—we fear no one, but we will not be intimidated. We stand on peace. And to those who come with violence, I say, ‘Get behind me, Satan!’”

Quoting the Jamaican proverb “Duppy know who fi frighten,” Holness made it clear that while the JLP will not instigate confrontation, it will not cower in the face of political threats.

Holness also took time to reflect on the achievements of his administration. He distributed leaflets outlining 250 accomplishments under the JLP’s leadership—highlighting infrastructure projects, social programmes, and economic reforms. He added that he could have listed many more.

“We will keep pushing through with love in our hearts, because we know our record speaks for itself,” he said.
“I can look Jamaicans in the eyes, shake their hands, and say without apology—we have delivered.”

The Prime Minister’s remarks appear to be a strategic mix of reassurance and resolve, signaling a JLP campaign focused on results and moral authority, in contrast to rising political tensions in the lead-up to elections.
