Buju Banton “I Am Jamaica” Festival Song Winner

BUJU BANTON is the 2020 winner for the Jamaica Festival Song Competition.

This is the first entry for Mark  Myrie popularly known as Buju Banton.

Buju is also coming off a very successful album release Upside down 2020.

Since coming home from his stint in Federal lockup in the United States, Buju dropped back in the music industry as if he never left. The world, including Jamaica, welcome him with opens arms. One could argue he is even more popular than when he went inside.

He reminds us no matter where in the world he goes, he is Jamaican.

Banton will donate his 3 million dollar prize to the SunBeam Boys Home.

In second place was Papa Michigan’s ‘Jamaican Dance’ and in third was Sakina Deer’s ‘We Are Jamaica.’
