The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have added another prestigious recognition to their growing list of humanitarian accomplishments. The royal couple received the “Humanitarians of the Year Award” from the U.S.-based nonprofit Project Healthy Minds on October 9, 2025, during the organization’s third annual World Mental Health Day Gala held in New York City.

Celebrating Mental Health Advocacy
The award acknowledges the couple’s steadfast global advocacy for mental wellness and their commitment to fostering a healthier, safer digital space for young people. Through their Archewell Foundation, Harry and Meghan have focused on initiatives that tackle online toxicity, digital addiction, and cyberbullying — issues that have become urgent concerns in the modern digital age.

In their acceptance remarks, the Sussexes expressed gratitude for the honor and emphasized their shared mission to create safer online environments. “We’re proud of the work we’ve done with families and young people to prioritize mental health and emotional well-being,” Meghan said. Prince Harry added that they remain deeply committed to using their platform “to make mental health support accessible, inclusive, and stigma-free for all.”
Partnership for a Healthier World
The Archewell Foundation has collaborated closely with Project Healthy Minds over the years, particularly in curating open conversations around mental health and digital balance. Together, they co-hosted panels and awareness campaigns for the World Mental Health Day Festival, drawing attention to the mental health crisis among youth worldwide.

Project Healthy Minds praised the couple’s “unwavering leadership in destigmatizing mental health conversations” and their efforts to integrate technology, compassion, and social action into modern mental wellness advocacy.
A Legacy of Service
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s humanitarian efforts extend beyond mental health. Their foundation has supported veterans’ rehabilitation, gender equality programs, and disaster relief initiatives. Yet, their latest recognition highlights the couple’s dedication to one of the most pressing issues of our time — mental well-being in a digital-first world.

As the gala concluded, organizers commended the Duke and Duchess for not only inspiring open dialogue but also mobilizing real action. Their ongoing work continues to remind the world that mental health is health, deserving of the same attention and compassion as any other aspect of human well-being.
