The Clarendon Police Division successfully carried out a high-impact tactical operation on Thursday, July 17, 2025, resulting in the arrest of one man on drug-related charges and the dismantling of several illegal electrical connections within local communities.

The operation, which was strategically planned and executed, was led by Deputy Superintendent Anton-Gur Cardoza. It involved the coordinated efforts of the Clarendon Operations Support Team, the Specialised Operations Branch, the Area Fugitive Apprehension Team (AFAT) for Police Area Three, and members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF).

According to police reports, the initiative aimed to disrupt criminal activity, apprehend fugitives, and promote public safety through increased law enforcement presence. One individual was taken into custody in connection with narcotics offenses, and authorities also identified and removed multiple illegal electricity connections — a move that enhances both safety and accountability in the affected areas.

“These types of joint operations are essential in safeguarding our communities,” said DSP Cardoza. “We are committed to ensuring Clarendon remains a place where citizens can live and thrive without fear.”

The Jamaica Constabulary Force is reminding the public of the importance of community collaboration in the fight against crime. Citizens are urged to report suspicious activities to their local police station, call Crime Stop at 311, or reach out to the National Intelligence Bureau at 811.

The operation stands as another example of the Government of Jamaica’s commitment to crime reduction and public safety through strategic, community-driven policing.
