Tragic Loss: Jamaican Family Among Six Killed in Fiery Florida Crash

A devastating head-on collision in Osceola County, Florida, on Saturday afternoon claimed the lives of six individuals, including three young children. The victims were all Jamaican nationals, with five of them being members of the Anderson family from Caymanas Gardens, Portmore, St. Catherine.

The Incident

The crash occurred on State Road 60, west of South Kenansville Road, around 3:46 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 2024 Hyundai Tucson was traveling westbound when the driver attempted to overtake several vehicles by entering the eastbound lane. While trying to re-enter the westbound lane, the driver lost control, and the SUV collided with a 2011 semi-truck heading eastbound. Both vehicles burst into flames upon impact, trapping the occupants of the Hyundai inside. All six individuals in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to Indian River Hospital for treatment.

The Victims

The deceased have been identified as:

• Andreil Anderson – One of the two sisters in the vehicle
• Keiosha Anderson – The other sister.
• Three children, including a four-month-old infant – Grandchildren of Errol Anderson.
• Yahshea Mullings – Their god-sister, who had aspirations of becoming a neurosurgeon.

Errol Anderson, the father and grandfather of five of the victims, expressed his grief, stating that the family was en route to celebrate his three-year-old granddaughter’s birthday when the tragedy occurred. His daughters had migrated to the U.S. in 2013 in pursuit of a better life.
